December European Christmas Highlights Tour 2023

Check in with your tour guide at OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg around 18:30 We fly to Milan.

Ciao Italy. We arrive in Milan with a scheduled arrival time of 12:35. After clearing customs and collecting our luggage, we depart to the hotel for a quick refresher, before your guide will take you to central Milan to view the magnificent Duomo, before we enjoy dinner as a group Have a great night rest and get ready for the rest of the tour.

The city made famous by Romeo and Juliet. We explore Verona before we make our way to the canals of Venice. We show you the best of Venice, including the Rialto bridge and St Mark Square. A free evening after the guided tour for you to explore Venice.

A free day in Venice. C the world recommends the glass blowing island of Murano, the lace shops on Burano or get lost next to the beautiful canals. Perhaps a Gondola ride?

Next stop on our European adventure is Innsbruck in the Austrian Alps. The city is surrounded by snow capped mountains, and famous for the Golden roof, as well as the Swarovski Crystals! We enter Germany, and spend the night in Munich! Wonder at the Christmas market in Marienplatz, or visit a local brewery and try the traditional Stein 1 Liter beers. (Breakfast, Dinner)

We continue North and visit the beautiful Rhine Valley. Early afternoon we board our Rhine valley cruise and enjoy a cruise through one of the most concentrated stretches of castles in the entire Europe. After the cruise we enjoy a wine tasting in Boppard, tasting some of the local wines.

The Dutch countryside awaits as we visit Zaanse Schans windmill village and the beautiful harbour village of Volendam. We then see how the traditional Clogs (wooden shoes or klompe) are made and we taste famous Edam cheese. Later in the evening it’s time to enter Amsterdam. The night is yours to explore Amsterdam, the coffee shops and to paint the town red.

A full free day in Amsterdam to explore this majestic city. Visit the Anne Frank house, Heineken brewery, or perhaps enjoy a canal cruise showing you all the main sites of Amsterdam

We start heading South and travel through Belgium on our way to the French capital. Late afternoon we take you on a guided walking tour of the Sacré-Cœur, Moulin Rouge and Montmartre.

After breakfast we explore all the main sights of Paris on foot. Your tour leader will show you the Opera house, Tuileries Garden, the Louvre Museum, Pont Neuf and the Notre Dame. After free time and lunch in the Latin quarter we continue to the most famous landmark in Paris, the Eiffel Tower. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace.

A full free day to explore the sites of Paris. Why not visit Disneyland, or perhaps make your way to the gardens of Palace of Versailles

After breakfast we continue South to the Swiss Alps. We will travel through the French countryside as well as Burgundy wine district, before arriving at our hotel in the Jungfrau district. Sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Swiss Alps.

After breakfast we depart Switzerland and travel back to Milan for our flight to Johannesburg. We depart Milan at 16:50.
