December European Christmas Highlights Tour 2024

Ciao Bella! Welcome to Italy! We arrive in Milan, continue through customs and transfer to our hotel. After a well deserved break to refresh, your guide will take you to central Milan to view the magnificent Duomo, and enjoy some free time before dinner.

Our first stop of the day is the town made famous by Romeo and Juliet. We visit Verona for some free time to explore this lovely town.

The canals of Venice awaits as we show you the Grande Canal, Rialto Bridge and St Mark Square. After the guided tour you will have some free time to wonder around the water canals of Venice.

A free day in Venice. C the world recommends the glass blowing island of Murano, or head to Lido’s beach. Why not take a Gondola ride?

Next stop on our European adventure is Innsbruck in the Austrian Alps. The city is surrounded by snow capped mountains, and famous for the Golden roof, as well as the Swarovski Crystals. We enter Germany, and spend the night in Munich! Wonder at the Christmas market in Marienplatz, or visit a local brewery and try the traditional Stein 1 Liter beers.

We continue North and visit the beautiful Rhine Valley. Early afternoon we board our Rhine valley cruise and enjoy a cruise through one of the most concentrated stretches of castles in the entire Europe. After the cruise we enjoy a wine tasting in Boppard, tasting some of the local wines.

The Dutch countryside awaits as we visit Zaanse Schans windmill village and the beautiful harbour village of Volendam. We then see how the traditional Clogs (wooden shoes or klompe) are made and we taste famous Edam cheese. Later in the evening it’s time to enter Amsterdam. The night is yours to explore Amsterdam, the coffee shops and to paint the town red.

A full free day in Amsterdam to explore this majestic city. Visit the Anne Frank house, Heineken brewery, or perhaps enjoy a canal cruise showing you all the main sites of Amsterdam.

We start heading South and travel through Belgium on our way to the French capital. Late afternoon we take you on a guided walking tour of the Sacré-Cœur, Moulin Rouge and Montmartre.

After breakfast we explore all the main sights of Paris on foot. Your tour leader will show you the Opera house, Tuileries Garden, the Louvre Museum, Pont Neuf and the Notre Dame. After free time and lunch in the Latin quarter we continue to the most famous landmark in Paris, the Eiffel Tower. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace.

A full free day to explore the sites of Paris. Why not visit Disneyland, or perhaps make your way to the gardens of Palace of Versailles.

After breakfast we continue South to the Swiss Alps. We will travel through the French countryside as well as Burgundy wine district, before arriving at our hotel in the Jungfrau district. Sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Swiss Alps.

Christmas in Switzerland! A free day to explore the Jungfrau region with friend or family. C the World recommends the world heritage site of Jungfraujoch.

After breakfast we depart Switzerland and travel back to Milan for our flight to Johannesburg.

We arrive back in Johannesburg. Say goodbye to new friends made and start thinking about the reunion party.
