Itinerary
Check in with your tour guide at OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg. We depart on a direct flight to Istanbul.

An early arrival in Istanbul after clearing customs and collecting our luggage. We will depart to the hotel to drop our luggage. (Please note: an early check in will be requested but will not be guaranteed) Walk the streets of Istanbul at your own pace and make sure to get a good night's rest, because tomorrow the sightseeing starts.

After breakfast it’s time to explore Istanbul, the only city in the world to span 2 continents. We will visit the famous Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the hippodrome with our local Turkish guide.

We depart Istanbul and visit one of the most emotionally touching places in Turkey, the WW1 Battlefields of Gallipoli, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair memorials, ANZAC cove, the nek, Johnston’s jolly as well as the original trenches and tunnels. We continue to our hotel in Canakkale and enjoy dinner together as a group.

Today we visit another highlight of Turkey, the famed Trojan Horse at Troy. We continue to the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum with the impressive temples and library.

Another day full of history as we take a guided tour of Ephesus and we visit the Temple of Artemis and the theater. We continue to the former Greek village of Sirince, which is famous for fruit wines. Turkey has a long tradition for carpet weaving, and we visit a carpet village where we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines the value of the carpets. We return to our hotel at Kusadasi and enjoy dinner.

Kusadasi is a beautiful coastal town in Turkey, why not relax by the beach, do some shopping in town and explore this amazing town at your own pace. A full free day to relax! Your local guide will give all recommendations of things to do on this day.

Start the day with a wonderful display of locally hand-crafted leather goods. We then continue to the impressive white calcium terraces, which is locally known as Travertines. At Pamukkale, we also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. You will have the opportunity to swim in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers. We continue to our 5* hotel in Pamukkale, and enjoy dinner.

We travel down the ancient silk road of Turkey as we visit the Sultanhani Caravansary and the Mevlana museum in Konya. Tonight, you have an optional traditional folklore evening which always proves to be a highlight on the tour.

First stop is Esentepe, followed by a visit to Uchisar Castle. We then visit Goreme Open air museum and Ortahisar castle . Afterwards, we visit the Pasabag fairy Chimneys, followed by Devrent Valley. (Breakfast, Dinner)
This morning, we head to Pigeon Valley and then Red Valley. After visiting the cave churches we head to an underground city! This is followed by a visit to Cavusin village and lastly Avanos town where we learn about hand-made pottery. In the evening we make our way to the airport for our flight back to Istanbul and on to Johannesburg.
