MAKING TRAVEL AFFORDABLE

Frequent Asked Questions

We can take a maximum of 46 people on our tours.
We recommend about 50 Euro p.p per day, this will give you opportunity to do most tourist activities and grab a bite. We have had guests who spent 30euro or less per day and guests that have spent about 60euro. This will depend on your shopping or drinking habits.
This is all confirmed on the specific tour page, but in general the following is not included: Visa fee (Approximately R1, 200), Entrance fees to attractions, Public transport(Approximately 35 Euro pp), Exchange rate fluctuations and difference in airport taxes.
We have two options for single travellers: 1) If you are willing to share, we can see if there are any other single travellers of the same sex, exchange your information and you can decide if you want to share. Your tour price will stay the same.
We only offer a triple room if there is a child traveling with under the age of 15 years. We do not recommend a triple room for three adults as the rooms in Europe are very small. Our suggestion to these guests would be to either take a single room at an additional fee or to ask the office if there is another same sex single traveller that you can share with at no additional cost.
All guests traveling with CHILDREN under the age of 18 will be required by law to have unabridged birth certificates to apply for their visa and need to carry them with them whilst traveling. This can take a while to get so please start the process as soon as possible. If the child is not traveling with both biological parents, a letter from the missing parent will need to be carried with the certificate.
Unless otherwise specified, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total tour price per person, is payable within seven days of making a reservation. The balance of the total tour price due is payable not later than 60 days prior to the departure, unless otherwise specified or pre-arranged with C the World.

Tours are dependent on minimum numbers, for confirmed departures. Every effort will be made to operate all trips as advertised. Please note that the accommodation and services featured are an indication of those planned to use for the various trips, but it may be necessary to use alternatives in some cases. We therefore reserve the sole right, at our discretion, to modify or cancel any trip, flight schedule, accommodation or substatute at any time. We will notify you as soon as possible of any material changes and they will form part of our contract with you. A material modification is one which has a serious effect on your trip and includes a change of departure date, departure point or airport, or change of departure time of more than twelve hours, which would cause substantial inconvenience to you. Accommodation is not considered as a material change. Should a material change (or cancellation) prove necessary we will give you reasonable notice thereof, in the circumstances, and where available, offer you a comparable alternative. If an alternative is not available or acceptable you will be entitled to either a full refund of monies paid by you to us or transfer to another C the world holiday without payment of any transfer fee. If the change or cancellation is due to force majeure (i.e. circumstances like political unrest, war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, closure of airports or ports, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemic or health risk, Acts of God, adverse weather conditions or other similar events beyond C the Word’s control) we will give a full refund of any monies paid to us less reasonable expenses incurred by us in respect of your booking. C the World makes use of Executive coaches, except for local shuttles within the cities. By Executive coaches we mean that the coach will have reclining seats, a toilet, air conditioning, TV for movies and even a fridge. We show you relevant DVDs, as well as play some old fashion games to make the time fly. You will also get to see a lot more of the country side than what one would if you were to fly from one main city to another. Regular stops are made along the way for your own comfort, and also because Europe enforces strict driving hours for the coach driver.
This tour is designed to give you a balance of free time, as well as organized activities.
Yes, you need travel insurance to cover you for the duration of the entire trip. This is not provided by C the World or included in your tour price.
Europe can be extremely expensive, or cheap, depending on your spending habits. Try the local restaurant away from the tourist areas to save some money (And get a true feel for the city as well). General restaurant/pub prices that can be expected are as follows: Pizza = 9 Euro 3 course meal = 16 Euro MacDonald’s meal = 6 Euro Draught beer 4 Euro Cigarettes 4.50 Euro Wine by the glass 3.00 Euro Bottle of wine 10.00 Euro Always ask your tour guide for the best local tips.
Currency depends on the specific tour that you`re interested in. For our European tours you will be able to pay with Euro’s for the entire tour. Switzerland still uses the Swiss Frank, but the Euro is widely accepted as well. We recommend not traveling with loads of cash, as ATM’s are commonly available throughout Europe. Visa and Meastro cards are best. Be sure to call your bank and inform them of your travel plans so that your card does not get stopped whilst abroad. For the latest exchange rate, visit www.xe.com Please contact our office for more information on specific tours.
South African citizens require a Schengen visa to enter the European Union. For the European coach tours, you need to apply through the Italian embassy. VFS Global is the official partner of the Consulate of Italy. The embassy fee is approximately 80 Euro (Approximately R1600). C the World will assist with the visa every step of the way, but unfortunately due to new laws all guests need to apply in person at the embassy, as the embassy requires biometric fingerprints before the visa can be issued. Please contact our office for more information on specific tours.
Whilst C the World does not enforce strict age restrictions, children under the age of 9 is not allowed on the European tours. No maximum age restriction applies, however, you need to be fit enough to walk 3km – 5km at a very relaxed pace. Families, couples, singles and groups of friends are all welcome to join the tour, and normally the tours has a great balance between young and old. Average age for tours in 2022 / 2023 was 45.
